Tony Kelly v Limerickโs defensive shape
One of the features of recent Limerick v Clare clashes is the Treatyโs refusal to compromise their gameplan to deal with Ballyeaโs best export.
Kelly scored 0-4 from play in Aprilโs round-robin clash seven in the Munster final of 2022, five in the group game before it, having hit 0-8 in the 2020 provincial defeat.
Limerick have been happy to allow the maestro pop a few scores so as to not compromise the integrity of their defence.
Will that happen again in this Munster final? Most likely, yes.
The knowledge of which could present an avenue for Clare to exploit their neighbours, as Brian Lohan already knows what John Kiely will likely do.
That gives him an opportunity to be one step ahead, pick who will be marking Kelly, and perhaps overload other areas of his attack.
