The Deise are out of contention after losing their opening three provincial games, and look to have continued a downturn that began midway through the 2022 championship.
Having begun this Munster run with an encouraging performance against Limerick, they have since been beaten well by both Cork and Clare, with their tactics confounding many pundits.
Kilkenny were All-Ireland finalists last year and have dominated their province in recent seasons, and have been moving well in Derek Lyng’s maiden campaign.
They were soundly beaten by Limerick in the league final at Pairc Ui Chaoimh but have had smooth sailing since during their Leinster run.
A draw with Galway was followed up by three wins against Antrim, Westmeath and Dublin โ the last of which was over the weekend.
Munster and Tipp native Stapleton clashes with Leinster and Offaly rival Verney about the strength of each province.
