In part two of our series, Shane Stapleton takes a look at some of the greatest hurling goals of all time from club and inter-county games

There’s little doubting that the goal itself was a wondrous moment of skill. Allied to that is the mountain that 14-man Waterford were attempting to climb against Munster champions Cork.

John Mullane had been sent off for striking Brian Murphy, and so every man remaining had to stand up to be counted.

Flynn looked up, saw Diarmuid O’Sullivan on the left hand side of the goal, and whipped a beauty past him from long range.
