Jack Barry v Conn Kilpatrick
Perhaps Kerry’s most underrated player coming up against Tyrone’s superstar over the past few weeks.
The Kingdom county will be fully aware of Kilpatrick’s and Brian Kennedy’s importance for the Red Hand county in terms of winning the long kick-outs.
Both midfielders destroyed Donegal last weekend, in terms of fielding and physicality when powering forward.
The duo’s ability of plucking ball out of the sky as well as their accuracy of sending in direct ball to their full-forwards gave Tyrone the platform for victory.
Barry alongside Diarmuid O’Connor – who he has knitted together a nice midfield partnership since David Moran’s retirement – will be hell-bent on halting their opponents possession supply line at the source.
The issue for Barry is that towards the end of the first half, Kilpatrick usually opts to move inside and attempt to win marks from the long ball.
The predicament here is does Barry follow him inside or leave it to the likes of Padraig Hampsey and Ronan McNamee who will have their own troubles with the Clifford brothers.
