Paudie Clifford blasts red card decision in captain’s speech

Paudie Clifford hit out at his own sending off during his captain’s speech following Fossa’s All-Ireland final victory

There was a feisty end to the All-Ireland Junior Club Championship final, with six red cards being shown in the contest. Paudie Clifford was shown a straight red at the death, and shortly afterwards accepted the cup as Fossa captain.

Still aggrieved from his sending off, Clifford used the platform to air his frustrations.

“To the referee and his officials, obviously a very tough game to ref at the end,” he said.

“Good job, other than the end when I was wrongly sent off. Unbelievable how I was sent off. But a great job all-round.”

Fossa won the contest, 0-19 to 1-13, with David Clifford leading the way, scoring 0-11.
