Patrick Collins – got his puck-outs away very quickly and pulled off a Nickie Quaid-esque flick to deny Séamus Callanan in the second half. 7.5/10

Niall O’Leary – went about his job quietly and effectively but didn’t get as involved as he normally would. 6.5/10

Eoin Downey – missed their opening round victory over Waterford due to suspension and struggled to get to the pitch of things on his senior debut. 5.5/10

Damien Cahalane – got the better of his duel with Sean Ryan without having too much impact on the game. 6.5/10

Ger Millerick – became much more visible as the game wore on but was quiet by his standards. 6/10

Ciarán Joyce – was injured on numerous occasions but stayed fighting until the end and kept taking the game to Tipp. 7/10

Rob Downey – much like his younger brother, struggled to get into the game and was caught in possession on a few occasions. 6/10

Darragh Fitzgibbon – was particularly quiet by his standards but made a few important plays towards the finish. 6.5/10

Tommy O’Connell – generally out around the middle of the park and was industrious but struggled to make a real impact. 6/10

Brian Roche – man-of-the-match last week but never really got going and was replaced midway through the second half. 5.5/10

Declan Dalton – has turned himself inside out physically and got through a mountain of work from start to finish, as well as hitting their opening goal. 8.5/10

Séamus Harnedy – a quiet first half but he took the game to Tipp in the second half when others were struggling. 7/10

Robbie O’Flynn – has had a horrid time with injury this season and was unfortunately forced off after firing a lovely goal. 7/10

Patrick Horgan – had a lively duel with Cathal Barrett but aside frm one glorious point in the first half, he couldn’t really dictate the game. 6/5/10

Shane Barrett – was kept well under wraps and never really got into the game before being replaced. 5.5/10

SUBS:

Shane Kingston – came in for O’Flynn before half-time and made a big impact with 0-3 from play. 7.5/10

Conor Lehane – was dropped from the Waterford game and had a point to prove, made some big plays. 7.5/10

Tim O’Mahony – came in around the middle of the park and made a huge contribution. 7.5/10

Luke Meade – was dropped from the Waterford clash and came in for the final quarter. 6/10
