8. Clare
Clare have the most treacherous path to glory in 2020.
Limerick and Tipperary are the top two according to the odds at the moment, and the Banner will have to lay waste to both just to qualify for a Munster final against Cork or Waterford.
The saffron and blue have a sorry record in the provincial championship with half of their six titles overall won in the four years between 1995 and 1998. The Munster cupboard has been empty since, and Brian Lohan faces an improbable task to change that this season.
The back door may represent a better chance of progression, but the challenge there remains uncertain, and there will be no easy games going the long route.
Lohan has looked to reorganise his team, with David McInerney operating at midfield, Davy Fitzgerald trialled at centre-forward, and further tweaking at three and six.
Whatever way they line out in the Munster quarter-final against Limerick โ which doubles up as a league final โ Lohan seems determined to try something new.
Last summer was a disaster, and it would represent a huge shift if they were to turn things around in the space of a year.
They will be capable of giving anyone a game, however.
