PREVIOUS CHAMPIONSHIP MEETINGS
2022: Cork 2-12 Louth 2-8 (All-Ireland qualifiers)
2007: Cork 0-16 Louth 0-14 (All-Ireland qualifiers)
1957: Louth 1-9 Cork 1-7 (All-Ireland final)
*Louth beat Cork by 1-10 to 0-10 in their Division 2 clash in Ardee last March. They finished third in the group (behind Derry and Dublin) on eight points, a point ahead of Cork.
*Last year’s Cork-Louth qualifiers turned into quite a contest in Páirc Uí Chaoimh. Cork led by a point at half-time and looked to have secured a relatively easy victory when leading by six after 65 minutes.
Louth rallied and cut the deficit to three points entering stoppage time. Cork fired in their second goal shortly afterwards, but Louth replied with a goal straight away before Steven Sherlock’s point extended Cork’s advantage to four points (2-12 to 2-8).
