There are two All-Ireland SHC preliminary quarter-final clashes in hurling this weekend, which we are zoning in on.
EIGHT REMAIN IN RACE FOR LIAM MacCARTHY CUP
Kilkenny and Limerick are through to the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship semi-finals as Leinster and Munster champions, respectively, where they will be joined by two from the following: Carlow, Clare, Dublin, Galway, Offaly, Tipperary.
The preliminary quarterfinals take centre-stage on Saturday, followed a week later by the quarterfinals.
The preliminary quarter-final pairings as follows:
- Offaly v Tipperary, Glenisk OโConnor Park, 4.00pm (Winner plays Galway)
- Carlow v Dublin, Netwatch Cullen Park, 5.00pm (Winner plays Clare)
CARLOW V DUBLIN
Carlow arrive at the preliminary quarter-final stage as Joe McDonagh Cup champions, having beaten Offaly in extra-time in the final.
Dublin finished third behind Galway and Kilkenny in the Leinster โround robinโ.
Carlow and Dublin last met in the championship in 2019 when Dublin won by 2-22 to 1-13 in the Leinster โround robinโ. Prior to that, they hadnโt met in the championship since 2000.

Carlow were last in the preliminary quarter-final in 2018 when they lost to Limerick.

OFFALY v TIPPERARY
Offaly were runners-up in the Joe McDonagh Cup, losing the final to Carlow in extra-time.
Tipperary finished third in Munster behind Clare and Limerick.
