WATERFORD FACING BIG BATTLE TO STAY IN MUNSTER CONTENTION

Clare and Waterford have the Liam MacCarthy Cup action to themselves this weekend (Saturday, FBD Semple Stadium, 6.00PM).

It’s the only game in the Munster championship while Leinster, where all six counties have played three games, takes a break before resuming next weekend.

WATERFORD v CLARE
Having lost their first two games, Waterford need to win to give themselves a chance of staying in All-Ireland contention. It will be a tough ask for Davy Fitzgerald’s men after losing to Limerick and Cork.

Clare lost to Tipperary before bouncing back with a very impressive win over Limerick.

*This will be the 37th championship meeting between the counties, with Clare leading 20-12 while there have been four draws from the previous 36 clashes.

*Clare have won their last four championship game with Waterford who are seeking their first win over the Banner since 2016.
