Former Galway and Sligo boss Kevin Walsh analyses the Connacht SFC final at Croke Park between his native county and Mayo.
Mayo are through to a tenth All-Ireland semi-final in 11 years after a 2-14 to 2-8 win over Galway in the Connacht SFC final.
Ryan O’Donoghue (penalty) and Matthew Ruane found the net after the break as James Horan’s men completely took over.
The Tribe had led by 2-5 to 0-6 at the break, with Shane Walsh scoring one goal and assisting Damien Comer for the other.
There was a tunnel row between the sides at half-time, and it seemed to awaken Mayo — who won the third quarter by 1-4 to zero.
In fact, Padraic Joyce’s charges managed just three frees during the latter 35 minutes of play, with substitute Michael Farragher sent off for two yellow cards.
