There are some huge games this weekend in the Tailteann Cup and we’ve previewed each of the eight second-round clashes.

TAILTEANN CUP (ROUND 2)
SATURDAY: London v Cavan, McGovern Park, Ruislip, 2.00PM; Carlow v Limerick, Netwatch Cullen Park, 3.00PM; Longford v Wicklow, Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, 5.00PM; Wexford v Antrim, Chadwicks Wexford Park, 5.30PM; Leitrim v Fermanagh, Carrick-on-Shannon, 6.00PM; Waterford v Meath, Fraher Field, 6.30PM; Laois v Offaly, Laois Hire O’Moore Park, 7.00PM.
SUNDAY: Tipperary v Down, FBD Semple Stadium, 1.45PM

LONDON v CAVAN
Round 1
Cavan 2-20 Laois 1-14
Offaly 2-14 London 0-11
Their last competitive meeting was in last year’s Allianz League when Cavan won a Division 4 game by 1-15 to 2-11.
Their last championship clash was in 2015 when Cavan won a Round 1 championship qualifier by 2-22 to 0-11 in Ruislip.
Cavan also won a Round 4 championship qualifier against London in 2013 by 1-17 to 1-8 in Croke Park.

CARLOW v LIMERICK
Round 1
Carlow 0-17 Wicklow 1-13
Limerick 2-16 Longford 1-16
They last in the championship in 2005 when Limerick won a qualifier tie by 2-15 to 0-7 in Carlow.
Limerick finished fourteen places ahead of Carlow in this year’s Allianz League.

LONGFORD v WICKLOW
Round 1
Limerick 2-16 Longford 1-16
Carlow 0-17 Wicklow 1-13
They meet in a championship game for the first time since 2013 when Wicklow won a Leinster first round tie by 1-15 to 0-16 in Aughrim. Their last League clash was in 2022 when they drew in a division 3 tie.

WEXFORD v ANTRIM
Round 1
Wexford 1-13 Fermanagh 1-13
Antrim 3-18 Leitrim 2-12
Their last competitive clash was in the 2020 Allianz League when Antrim won a Division 4 clash by six points.

LEITRIM v FERMANAGH
Round 1
Antrim 3-18 Leitrim 2-12
Fermanagh 1-13 Wexford 1-13
Leitrim reached the Tailteann Cup quarter-finals last year, losing to Sligo in extra-time.
Fermanagh reached the Tailteann Cup quarter-finals last year, losing to Cavan.

WATERFORD v MEATH
Round 1
Down 2-14 Waterford 1-6
Meath 1-19 Tipperary 0-11
An unusual pairing sees Meath, joint fourth on the All-Ireland honours list with Cork, against Waterford who have never won the All-Ireland title and whose only Munster title success was in 1898.

LAOIS v OFFALY
Round 1
Cavan 2-20 Laois 1-14
Offaly 2-12 London 0-9
They last met in the championship in 2019 when Laois won a qualifier by five points in Portlaoise.

Down 2-14 Waterford 1-6
They met in this year’s Allianz League (Div 3) when Down won by 2-11 to 1-11 in the opening round.
