Player ratings — Tipperary v Limerick

Limerick and Tipperary drew 0-25 apiece at Semple Stadium and we have done player ratings — give us your thoughts

Limerick player ratings

Nickie Quaid (Effin)
Didn’t have much to do by way of shot-saving, but did spill a simple ball which almost let Tipp in. Safe otherwise. 7/10

Mike Casey
Casey has always been a steady influence in the Limerick defence and did little wrong here. 7/10

Dan Morrissey
Another solid performance from the Ahane man who rarely puts a foot wrong. 7.5/10

Barry Nash
Had Bonner Maher for company and was yellow-carded for bundling over the Lorrha man in the first half. Didn’t get on ball in attacking areas as he usually does, and saw the line late on for a second yellow. 6/10

Diarmaid Byrnes
Had some tough moments in the first half as Tipp drove into Limerick. As ever, stood up when needed, particularly in how he held up Jake Morris’ run in the opening period. Hit over some big scores. 7.5/10

Declan Hannon
Knocked over a point, won some good ball, and showed his classy close control on more than one occasion. 7/10

Kyle Hayes
Muted display from one of the powerhouses of the game. Didn’t find the scoresheet and hit one shot very short late on. 6.5/10

Darragh O’Donovan
Rather quiet in the central areas but did work the ball out of trouble on several occasions. 6.5/10

William O’Donoghue
Really good in the physical exchanges and very cool on the ball when Tipp hunted in packs. 7.5/10

Gearóid Hegarty
One of the most off-colour displays we have seen from Hegarty. His decision to force a shot at goal late on was strange, as it was to see the effort go tamely wide. 5.5/10

Cian Lynch
Lynch fired over a nice point in the first half but rarely featured otherwise. One assumes he isn’t yet at 100% after injury. 5.5/10

Tom Morrissey
The man for all seasons, Morrissey fired over five points and worked his backside off. 8.5/10

Séamus Flanagan
Hit two points, one of which was a beauty from the sideline in the first half, but wasn’t quite his usual barnstorming self. 6.5/10

Aaron Gillane
Hit three from play and won a few frees, but didn’t get the service he usually thrives on. 7.5/10

Cathal O’Neill
Brilliant performance from the youngster who hit five points from play. Can score from anywhere, and usually does. 8/10

Subs
Peter Casey
Brought on for Cian Lynch and immediately made a difference. Hit two points. 7.5/10

Conor Boylan
Came in late on and didn’t get into it. 6/10

Graeme Mulcahy
Brilliant impact off the bench in scoring two points and setting up another. 8/10

David Reidy
The Dromin-Athlacca had been huge off the bench in the past but didn’t get much ball here. 6/10

Richie English
Fist-pumped when winning one sideline ball and did his bit. 7/10

Great game in Thurles but that should have been a red card tackle on Sheamus Flanagan not a yellow one for the health and safety off the players he could have broken he’s neck with that tackle it wasn’t addressed on the Sunday game a lot happened in front off the Referee and he ignored it it’s a disgrace
