4 hurling player match-ups to savour this weekend

Amid the huge hurling matches that are coming up this weekend, some key match-ups may go a long way to deciding the results

Wexford v Kilkenny, Chadwicks Wexford Park, Sunday 2pm
Conor McDonald v Huw Lawlor

McDonald has been in and out of the team in recent times, but reminded manager Darragh Egan of his class when scoring two points off the bench against Dublin.

That was followed up with 2-2 in the shock defeat to Westmeath, meaning the Naomh Eanna man is in good form heading into the game with Kilkenny.

Derek Lyng has some excellent defenders, with Lawlor being chief among them.

The O’Loughlin Gaels man is firmly established as the leader at number three, and his aerial prowess might well be deployed in a manner aimed at nullifying McDonald.
