Wexford GAA have confirmed that six players have returned positive tests for Covid-19 between their hurling and football panels.

Four members of Shane Roche’s football squad comprise that number, while Davy Fitzgerald’s crew have had two cases.

The Model County have two rounds of the league to complete — beginning with a trip to Rathkeale this Sunday where they will meet Limerick in Division 4 — as they continue to chase promotion.

Meanwhile, the small-ball brigade begin their Leinster hurling championship campaign on October 31 against Galway, as they hope to defend their provincial crown.

The Under-20 hurlers have had their activities suspended as they look to get a breakout of the virus under control.
